OUR LATEST CHALLENGE
We recently framed an item for the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry. They asked us to frame an old regimental flag from the Fourth Texas Infantry that had been recently restored and preserved. The finished size was almost 6 x 8 feet. Alex and Steve went on site and did the installation of the flag into the frame which we had built in our shop. We even had to rent a U-haul truck to deliver the frame, it was that big! It is now in a beautiful gold frame with a white linen liner, topped off with a sheet of UV protective plexiglass.
We are currently working on a second flag for them that should be finished in the near future.
If you get a chance, go by and check out the museum. There are lots of other items there to view as well.

While we are on the flag thing here, I will show one more picture of a 48 star US flag that a customer brought in for framing recently. Pictured below is Steve hand stitching this flag to a suede backing board. The flag was in tatters, but for a very good reason. This flag was flown on a U.S. battleship that was involved in the Normandy invasion on D-Day in 1944! Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the finsihed framing, but it turned out suitable for hanging in any museum.
Thanks to Steve and all of his hard work with this one. Great job!
